Saturday to Jim Thorpe
Since it's been raining the whole time we've been here, and since there hasn't been a frost yet, the leaves in and around Media have hardly started to turn -- so we drove up North on Saturday to a town called Jim Thorpe where we saw some color on the trees. The town was having their annual "Autum Festival" so it was difficult getting in there but we finally made it to a pizza place for lunch that wasn't too busy. After lunch we went to a park that Gary knew to check out the colors and watched some rafters coming down the river. I picked up a few leaves to bring home to Mom and then we headed back. Gary fixed us a fantastic dinner for our last night here in Media and we sat around the dinner table telling stories most of the evening. Packing was not fun, but we're now ready to get up at the crack of dawn and head to the airport to catch our flight back to Fresno. If there are no delays we'll be home by 2:30 p.m.
I was able to snap a couple of cool shots while we were stuck in traffic driving into Jim Thorpe, PA. The traffic jam was because of their "Annual Autumn Festival."
Lunch at Christina's Pizza in Jim Thorpe, PA. (probably the ONLY place that wasn't busy).
Boy Scouts (we think) coming down the river where we stopped off the see the changing leaves.
The old bridge...
Joan and Gary, enjoying the smell of turning leaves, the sunshine, and the company.
Joan had to have this picture of me with the patch of color you see above my head.
